Hans Werner Aufrecht, founder of AMG, created HWA to design and build high-performance cars. HWA decided to modernize the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II, a legendary racing car.

HWA EVO: The new HWA EVO features a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 engine with up to 486 horsepower, capable of reaching speeds of 185 mph

At the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Aufrecht and HWA's leaders explained their motivation for creating the HWA EVO, emphasizing a desire to showcase their engineering capabilities.

The 190E 2.5-16 Evo II was chosen for its iconic status in European racing history, making it a fitting model for HWA's first car.

The initial vision included advanced features like a carbon monocoque chassis, but practical considerations led to a focus on road car usability.

The V-6 engine was chosen over a V-8 or four-cylinder for optimal balance, although the exact power output is still being fine-tuned.

Future customers expect perfection from HWA, given its track record of engineering excellence for other brands.

The HWA EVO bridges the gap between classic and modern car philosophies, appealing to buyers with a nostalgic connection to the original 190E Evo II.
